THE AMERICAN NIGHTMARE

A project based on the concept of the “American dream”. The set of ideals in which freedom includes the opportunity for prosperity and success. The American nightmare is an image series reflecting current political problems in the U.S.A in the 21st century. My project includes the overturning of Roe V Wade, terrorism, freedom of religion and gun control. The images were made using an analogue technic which includes using cutouts, backlight and plastics to give a dreamy effect to the picture.
PROCESS

I started this process by experimenting with salt, plastic and light, creating different compositions and effects. This lead to incorportating cutouts into the techniques. After this I started experimenting with cut out images and the technique arose from there.
